Zhejiang is located in the southern wing of theYangtze River Delta on the southeastern coasts ofChina�� bordering Shanghai�� the country's largest city��in the north�� and the expansive Pacific Ocean in itseast. The provincial capital city of Hangzhou is linkedwith Shanghai by expressway of about 150 kilometers. The province covers a total continental area of101��800 square kilometers�� and has a total sea areareaching 260��000 square kilometers. The continentalcoastline and the island shoreline totals 6��600kilometers�� accounting for 21% of the country's entirecoastline. The province has the largest number ofislands and islets in the country�� among which 2��878islands and islets have an area of more than 500square meters each. The sea areas of the province have the capacity for construction of up to one hundred100��OOO-tonnage deep-water berths�� ranking first in China.
